M Shed and Arnolfini suit a harbourside start. Spike Island is on Cumberland Road and has its own exhibition schedule. Bristol Beacon suits a planned evening: choose a performance and check the start time before arranging the rest of your day.

Bristol's stories, people and places in a former harbourside transit shed. An easy anchor for a day by the water.

General entry is free. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am–5pm. Groups of ten or more need to arrange a booking.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

Art and museum collections on Queen's Road. A substantial indoor stop above the city centre.

General entry is free. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am–5pm. The British and World Wildlife galleries are closed until summer 2027.
