Choose an area first

Choose the Art Gallery for an indoor visit, the Australian Museum for natural history or the Royal Botanic Garden for a walk. Garden gate times change with the season, so check them if you are going late.

The Domain · Art & galleries

Art Gallery of New South Wales

Art and exhibitions in the Domain, with parkland close by. Keep time for one building or take a longer look around the campus.

General admission is free. Open daily 10am–5pm and until 10pm on Wednesday. Special exhibitions may have separate tickets.

Hyde Park · Museums

Australian Museum

Natural history and cultural collections beside Hyde Park, including the museum's dinosaur displays.

General entry is free and permanent exhibitions do not need a ticket. Open daily 10am–5pm, except Christmas Day.

Harbour · Outdoors

Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

A garden walk beside the harbour. Choose it for fresh air between cultural stops around the Domain.

General garden access is free. Gate times vary by season and ticketed experiences have separate admission.

The Art Gallery, State Library and Royal Botanic Garden are around the Domain and Macquarie Street. The Australian Museum is beside Hyde Park.
